Magirevo Kypriaka 2013 (Μαγειρεύω Κυπριακά)

This is the first competition «Magirevo Kipriaka» of which the title stands for “Cooking Cypriot food”. The competitors were children and young people between 10-18 years old competing for their cooking skills in Cypriot food!

The competition took place between April 13 & 14 in 2013 at the cooking workshops of Intercollege Nicosia. At the outside area, visitors could enjoy traditional Cypriot food and sweets prepared live such us loukoumades, pasta, pourekia, koupes and much more.

The first day, the competitions of younger age took place and high school students and secondary technical school students competed on the second dat. The jury for each competition consisted of culinary art teachers, representatives of Cyprus Chefs Associations, confectioners, recreation centres, a representative of the Museum of Cypriot Food and Nutrition and representatives of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education.

ANCO could not be absent from such an event which encourages youngsters to cook and promote our island’s cuisine. The event was very successful and our team will strongly support Chef  George  Kyprianou who is one of the founders and organizers of this event.
